Saw the kids football program commenced. There were 35 kids on that first day with many having their first taste of the great game.
Three groups were formed according to age with the senior Bears players acting as coaches. A highlight was the appearance of “Benny the Bear” to play with the kids.
The “Baby Bears” now have a subcommittee formed from the Senior Bears which includes a representative of the Senior Bears committee and parents of the kids. The subcommittee is to ensure the continued support and development of the players and coaches and subsequent funding. Steps are in place to gain affiliation with Auskick (the body who runs kids football development in Australia) to provide coaching manuals and support for the club.
