A very warm welcome to all and I hope you will enjoy reading this newsletter. Since this is our first edition we will try and provide a monthly newsletter in the future .First of all I wish to thank all the children for making it to Auskick for the past weeks. A BIG THANK YOU to all the parents who have been supporting us in bringing their children and also assisting at the ground.

Auskick program is not only a time to come and learn the skills of AFL sport, but also to get to know and learn from each other, encourage and teamwork. One of the challenging issue that the kids are reminded about is to STAY FOCUS and BE ON TIME and NO JAMKARET!!
The Australian Football League Grand Final 2012
The AFL Grand Final is one of the largest and most important annual events on the Australian sporting landscape. Historically, the AFL Grand Final is hosted at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on the last Saturday in September: AFL Draw 2012.
Blast From The Past: Gary Buckenara
Gary Buckenara was first invited to be a guest Celebrity speaker at the 2010 Borneo Bears Grand Final event held at the Novotel Balikpapan, he supplied several invaluable Sporting Memorabilia items to Auction including his No 11 Haws Playing Jumper from 1998.
Saw the kids football program commenced. There were 35 kids on that first day with many having their first taste of the great game.
Three groups were formed according to age with the senior Bears players acting as coaches. A highlight was the appearance of “Benny the Bear” to play with the kids.
Borneo ANZAC Cup and Sportman’s Night 2012
The Borneo Bears hosted the Borneo ANZAC Cup and Sportsman’s night once again for 2012. The ANZAC cup weekend kicked off on the Friday night with the Bears welcome night at Yuli’s bar down on Batakan beach.
The Bear junior has been selected for the AFL under 16’s National Competition
Richard Wood – Borneo Bears Junior chosen for the NAB AFL under 16’s World XVIII team 2012Young Richard Wood will be the only Indonesian National playing for the World XVIII side and we are sure he will do us all proud.
